• Back BTTS in the First Half in Leeds vs Man Utd at 11/4

This selection is primarily based on gut feel as I reckon this will be one of the most open games of the season so far. I looked at the over 3.5 in total at 6/4, evening had a good perusal of the card odds and of course just plain old BTTS but that is as short as 4/7. However I wanted to push the boat out as all my instincts are screaming that both teams will be well up for this and a fast start is very much a possibility.

In 90 minutes, these two sides are both in the top five when it comes to BTTS. Leeds are at 62% with Manchester United a notch below at 59% for the season so far. We saw them play out a 2-2 draw just this week at Old Trafford where we saw the difference between a United midfield containing Casemiro and one that doesn’t. The always say you are a better player out of the team but seeing how open they looked with Fred playing instead of the Brazilian really did back up that notion.

Only Leicester have scored more goals than Leeds in the bottom half of the table heading into GW23 and everyone knows how defensively frail they’ve been for years.

We have a derby match where both teams could be vulnerable at the back and a pretty tasty price for both sets of supporters to be celebrating before the HT interval. The stats suggest this is a possibility and the odds are probably about right but sometimes you have to go with your gut and mine tells me this is going to be a special game with a fast start.

Therefore the 11/4 for BTTS in the first half is I think a better value play than the odds suggest.
