The Zynga Poker social gaming site offers two types of tournaments, Shootout Multi-Table Tournaments and Sit N Go Tournaments.

The Shootout Multi-Table Tournaments involve three rounds. Players can skip to the second round by paying 5 gold coins or skip to the third round by paying 50 gold coins. The buy-in for the first round is 2,000 chips. If players make it through all three rounds, they could win up to $500,000.

If you don’t want to commit yourself to three games to be a part of a tournament, you can choose to play a Sit N Go Tournament. The loyalty program at Zynga is simply named the VIP Program. You advance in the program by reaching new levels of play, buying gold, and buying chips.

There are seven different VIP Tiers. Everyone starts at the Sapphire Tier, which requires zero points. When you earn 2,000 points you progress to Emerald, 10,000 points moves you to Gold, which is followed by Platinum at 50,000 points. Next is Ruby which requires 250,000 points, Diamond requires 750,000 points and finally, Black Diamond is the top tier, which requires 2,500,000 points.

With each tier, you get a larger discount when you buy chips, gold or gifts. At the Platinum Tier, players receive VIP account management. Ruby through Black Diamond players receive VIP account management and VIP only features including invitation-only tournaments, event playoffs and sales.
