Premier League : Can January signings make an instant impact?

As the transfer window closes, a large number of new players have joined the Premier League, bringing with them flair, experience, and vast amounts of potential.

We preview the most anticipated matches of Matchweek 22.

Chelsea v Fulham

After a period of transition in which they parted ways with managers and their billionaire owner, Roman Abramovich, Chelsea have begun a process of rebuilding. Based on their behaviour in subsequent transfer windows, the Blues are optimistic that it won’t be long before they are back near the top of the table and winning major trophies.

Their new signings, Mykhailo Mudryk and Enzo Fernandez, are two of the most promising players in the world and are certain to bolster a squad that has struggled to assert itself in the Premier League this season due to injuries. Consequently, they are tenth and two points behind their local rivals Fulham, who are 9/2 favourites to win here.

The odds for Chelsea are 8/13 despite the fact that, based on the relative quality of the two teams, they should win this game easily.

However, nothing can be taken away from Fulham, who after promotion from the Championship have played out of their skin this season. They have demonstrated that they belong in the Premier League by winning nine of their 21 matches.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, the team’s star striker, has adapted well to the Premier League, scoring 11 goals so far this season. This has contributed to the team’s incredible form. Everton v Arsenal

This, coupled with Sean Dyches’s ability to salvage even the most hopeless situations, could result in the Toffees’ best performance ever.

They are 7/1 to claim only their fourth win of the season, and it must be said that the odds aren’t completely against them.

The loss of Anthony Gordon will be a big hit for Everton, but they certainly possess the quality to find the results they need to stay in the Premier League this year. Even if it doesn’t come against Arsenal, neutral fans will definitely be watching this result.

Both teams to score offers good value at 11/10 and over 2.5 match goals at 4/5 could be a worthy punt looking at the way Arsenal have been scoring for fun this season. Consider however Dyche’s renowned defensive prowess. Will he have sufficient time to implement his strategies? It remains to be seen.

The most likely score will be 2-0 to Arsenal, but a goal from Everton and a draw are also possibilities. Get 1-1 at 8/1 with excellent profit potential.

Tottenham v Man City

Already in their second meeting of the year, these two teams will play a highly anticipated match that could go in any direction.

Before Dejan Kulusevski and Emerson Royal gave Spurs a 2-0 lead before halftime in their game just two weeks ago, it appeared that Manchester City would cruise to another routine victory, as they dominated the first half.

Riyad Mahrez’s inspired performance in the second half prevented the game from ending in a different result.

This match appears to be just as close, as the defending champions are 8/11 favourites to defeat Tottenham for the second time in less than three weeks, while Spurs are 17/5 underdogs.

Erling Haaland is odds of 8/15 to score at any time, 2/1 to score first, and 27/10 to score two or more goals after regaining his form.
