On Monday, there are six races to wager on at Plumpton, and we’ve scoured the market to recommend three horses for the action in East Sussex.
A five-horse field will compete in the Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle at 13:30, while the Mares’ Handicap Hurdle will conclude the day at 16:00.
Plumpton Betting Tips
14:00 – En Coeur @ 9/2
Starting off our trio of selections is the backing of EN COEUR (9/2) in the 14:00 – the Ellis Wines 201 Year Stakes Handicap Chase that will see a field of seven battle it out over 2m 214y.
All four of the nine-year-old’s victories have come at Plumpton, with three of those over this distance, and the most recent of those wins came at the start of January this year.
Seamus Mullins’ charge produced a below-par effort when sixth at Fontwell Park last time out, but a return to his favourite venue could bring the best out of him and a fifth victory may be on the cards.
15:30 – Kotmask @ 11/2
The Handicap Hurdle at 15:30 is a seven-runner race and it may prove prudent to side with the Gary Moore-trained KOTMASK (11/2), who landed back-to-back juvenile events at Fontwell and Huntingdon last term.
A third-place finish at Leicester over today’s distance provided plenty of positives last time out and the feeling is another solid account will be given under the guidance of Niall Houlihan, who is handed the ride of Kotmask for the first time.
16:00 – Well Vicky @ 8/11
Wrapping up our trio of selections is WELL VICKY (8/11) in the finale, a Mares’ Handicap Hurdle that is set over 1m 7f 195y and will see a total of eight runners vying for the spoils.
Alastair Ralph’s charge has seen a vast improvement since being switched to handicaps, producing impressive performances to win at Hereford and Bangor in the last two outings.
Anything close to those recent winning displays will likely be enough to chalk up a hat-trick, with Jay Tidball taking the ride this time.
Teasing Georgia (5/1) is a potential threat, who was a bumper winner on debut for Stuart Crawford in 2019, and the latest third at Catterick on handicap debut will have boosted hopes that there is more to come.
Paddy’s Fancy at 7/1 is another that will have to be watched, after a switch to hurdles and the fitting of cheekpieces produced a victory at Leicester.
