Williams driver Alex Albon has voiced support for under-pressure
teammate Logan Sargeant following rumours the American could be
ousted from the team at the end of the season. Sargeant's seat at
the Grove-based outfit is the last to be confirmed for next season
and whilst the American rookie has shown promise during his debut
season, it has largely been overshadowed by Albon's regular
points-scoring form. He has yet to score any points and having also
suffered significant crashes at Zandvoort, Singapore and Japan that
have left Williams running an older-spec car for him in recent
races, Team Principal James Vowles has challenged Sargeant to earn
his future on the grid. Albon: He doesn't get the credit he
deserves Speaking to media including RacingNews365.com about his
teammate's future, Albon said: “I'm not the one to decide. But I
know Logan pretty well. “I can see his performance. I do think he
doesn't get the credit that he deserves. “There is a lot of speed
and talent within Logan. I think it's just been a little bit offset
with a couple of mistakes that he's had. “But I get on very well
with him and I think he just needs a bit more time and confidence –
and he'll get up there.”
